ENCINO (CBSLA) — Police are investigating after several businesses from Tarzana to Studio City appeared to have been vandalized on Friday night or early Saturday morning.
© Provided by CBS Los AngelesThe businesses along Ventura Blvd all had their windows shattered by an unknown suspect. It is not clear how the windows were shattered.
Investigators said they believe the suspect may have opened fire with a BB gun from their car as they drove past.

And crews boarding up windows. As at least 8 stores were vandalized overnight.
“I’m not sure of the purpose of all of this,” said Simon Shamoun, owner of Tarzana Wine & Spirits. “Businesses are dying with all this closure… for businesses to have to suffer from this….”
Shamoun said businesses have been targeted all week.
“We looked at the video cameras and we saw a car go by and speed and the glass just come down,” he said.
The damage reaches more than seven miles on Ventura Blvd from Tarzana to Sherman Oaks.

“It’s not surprising with the lockdown happening again people are getting desperate and aggression is happening,” said Julia Fosdick, who lives nearby.
LAPD investigators said they are not sure yet if all the shattered windows are connected. With a holiday weekend and more than one jurisdiction involved, it’s just not clear the scope of the damage or the financial impact.
